Summerland woman dies from her injuries
A Summerland woman has died from her injuries following a collision near Revelstoke last Friday.
Sixty-three year old Maria Pereira of Summerland died Sunday at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.
The collision occurred fifty-three kilometers east of Revelstoke in Glacier National Park.
RCMP say a Ford Mustang travelling westbound on the Trans Canada Highway crossed the center line, clipping a truck in the oncoming lane and causing the Mustang to collide head on with the Jeep Liberty Pereira was travelling in.
The crash closed the stretch of Highway between Revelstoke and Golden for several hours while crews cleared the scene.
Pereira's forty year old daughter, Anabela Blystone from Summerland, the twenty-three year old Calgary driver of the Mustang and her thirty-one year old Nigerian passenger all died at the crash scene.
